DOMAIN: Employee Relations

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide an Employee Relations service to all stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric/Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) certificate is essential
  • A 3 years National Diploma/bachelor's degree, at NQF level 7 (old NQF level 6), in Human Resources, Labour Relations or related field is essential
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office Package and SAP HR) is essential
  • Knowledge of company policies, Labour legislation and ER practices is essential
  • 2 Years working experience within the HR, of which 1 year must have been in Employee Relations (ER) is essential
  • Previous exposure in incapacitation processes would be considered an advantage
  • Must have good communication, counselling and problem-solving skills
  • Valid Medical Certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of current Labour legislation and processes is essential.
  • Communication skills (verbal & written) are essential

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS:

The successful candidate is responsible for:

  • Facilitating disciplinary hearings
  • Advising line management on dealing with issues and requirements as specified in the LRA
  • Representing the company at disciplinary and other agreed upon hearings
  • Act as an interpreter during disciplinary hearings
  • Give feedback on disciplinary hearing to management
  • Take minutes at meetings and Disciplinary hearing
  • Conducting general HR administration
  • Recording and take grievances and complaints up with management
  • Interpreting and managing conflict within the workplace
