HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER – GRAND TURK

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Grand Turk Cruise Center (GTCC), a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc, is located on Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands. GTCC hosts cruises from around the world and delivers its guests a memorable experience. GTCC presently seeks an HR Manager, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a human resources program to include employment processes, coaching and counseling, training and development, compensation, benefits, performance management, communications, and regulatory compliance.

The HR Manager at GTCC reports to the Port Director/General Manager on site with a matrixed reporting relationship to the Sr. HR Manager, Global Destinations, based in our corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Owns, oversees, and coaches leadership on the employment life cycle.
  • Develops, implements, and manages HR policies and procedures aligned with company goals.
  • Oversees employee relations, performance management, rewards, recognition, and professional development.
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Develops and conducts training and educational programs for all levels of employees.
  • Fosters a collaborative work environment and develops and implements employee engagement and recognition programs.
  • Manages HRIS, data, and files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Conducts regular assessments of HR programs and recommends improvements to senior management.
  • Periodically reviews all data (i.e internal, external, and exit surveys) and develops programs, policies, and procedures accordingly.
  • Represents the Company in legal hearings as needed.
  • Assists in strategic planning.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (i.e coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Creates and oversees compensation and benefit strategies.
  • Facilitates payroll in partnership with accounting by ensuring accurate review and submission of department timesheets.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS: HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters Degree in HRM or related field, with 3-5+ years of related progressive human resources experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 10 years in HR or related field
  • HR certifications (HRCI or SHRM) are preferred.
  • General knowledge of HRIS, associated HR workflow, and relevant employment laws in TCI
  • Demonstrated initiative, drive, and a desire to dive deep into existing HR operations, recommend and implement improvements, and deliver results while delighting internal customers.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, confidentiality, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Tenacious in meeting deadlines, well-organized, adept at managing peak workloads.
  • Uncompromising personal integrity, as well as a high level of respect for all individuals

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests.
  • Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and co-workers.
