The Opportunity

Are you an experienced HR professional ready to take ownership and truly make your mark?

We’re seeking a confident and capable HR Manager to lead and manage the HR function in a standalone capacity.

This is a part-time, 3 days per week role offering autonomy, perfect for someone who thrives on responsibility and enjoys both strategic influence and hands-on execution.

You won’t just manage HR — you’ll shape it.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our HR Manager, you’ll oversee the full employee lifecycle while driving strategic initiatives that support business growth.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and offboarding
  • Administering and optimising our HRIS (Employment Hero - EH). There’s exciting scope to fully utilise the EH platform
  • Preparing employment contracts, letters, policies and HR documentation
  • Implementing performance reviews and KPIs
  • Coordinating probation tracking and salary reviews
  • Partnering with Finance to complete fortnightly payroll processing
  • Managing compliance training and overseeing the Learning Management System
  • Maintaining HR records, templates and registers with precision and confidentiality
  • Compiling HR metrics and preparing compliance and government reports
  • Supporting leaders with employee relations and fostering a positive, inclusive culture
  • Ensuring compliance with Australian employment legislation and Work Health & Safety standards
  • Coordinating Work Health & Safety documentation, administration, training and reporting
  • Leading HR projects aligned to broader business strategy

This role offers variety, ownership and the opportunity to contribute at both operational and strategic levels.

About You

You are proactive, commercially minded and confident operating independently. You bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar HR role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and HR compliance
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using Employment Hero (preferred)
  • Experience within the NDIS sector (desirable but not essential)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • HR certification (AHRI, CIPD, SHRM) desirable
  • You’re someone who enjoys building structure, improving processes, working on key projects and partnering with leaders to create a thriving workplace.

Why Join Novis?

  • Autonomy to shape and lead the HR function
  • Part-time working arrangements
  • Supportive leadership and collaborative culture
  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact across the business
  • Competitive salary and benefits
