Job Description

Job Location: Pocket Nurse - Greater Pittsburgh Region, PAAs a leading manufacturer and distributor of medical supplies and equipment for healthcare simulation and education, Pocket Nurse provides solutions that create hands-on learning experiences for the next generation of healthcare professionals. The Human Resources Manager promotes Pocket Nurse culture both internally and externally while leading, directing, and overseeing activities of the HR Department including recruitment and hiring, performance management, education, employee relations, administering compensation, benefits and leave, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and company policies and practices.
Key Responsibilities and other duties as assigned:
- Oversees the day-to-day administration of the HR team.
- Manages a fair and effective performance management process.
- Evaluates and recommends employee compliance, development, and educational opportunities.
- Oversees benefit programs, associated compliance, and all leaves of absence, return to work, and unemployment administration.
- Administers the recruitment, selection & hiring process.
- Assists in developing and implementing policies, programs, department goals, and systems.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in HR, talent management, benefits and compensation, and employment law to ensure Pocket Nurse remains compliant and competitive.
- Manages HRIS (Paycom) to keep accurate employee records and documentation throughout employee lifecycle and to develop and generate HR reports.
- Helps drive resolution of employee relations issues.
- Acts as a back-up for processing bi-weekly payroll correctly and on time.
- Participates in Safety Committee programs to foster a safe and healthy working environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Determines resource needs and ways to attract, retain and manage a highly functional team including time management and performance.
- Promotes a diverse, harassment-free work environment.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field with a Human Resources concentration preferred and at least 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience or the equivalent of 8 years combination of education and experience.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) is a plus.

- Working knowledge of best practices in recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations and applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and possesses a high level of personal and business ethics to uphold Pocket Nurse Values.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with employees and management at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
