NATURE AND SCOPE:

We are seeking a highly motivated and Analytical Summer Intern to support our Human Resources team with employee relations. This role is ideal for a student with a strong foundation in accounting, finance, or data analytics who is eager to apply their skills to real-world business challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

  • Triage incoming Employee Relations (ER) inquiries received via email and case management system (Zendesk), ensuring timely acknowledgment and appropriate routing
  • Partner with requestors to gather and validate required details so ER team members can effectively assess and respond to cases
  • Convert intake requests into formal cases and transfer them into the designated ER case management queue
  • Upload and organize supporting documentation (e.g., files, video footage, investigation notes) within case records to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Retrieve and prepare escalated background check documentation for ER team review in accordance with established protocols

Data & Reporting Support

  • Pull, compile, and organize data from multiple sources to support ER reporting, trend analysis, and insights
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., HR, Compliance, Operations) to support data requests and contribute to preparation of ER metrics and dashboards

Coordination & Administrative Support

  • Schedule and coordinate investigation interviews, employee meetings, and manager consultations
  • Maintain accurate tracking of case activities, timelines, and documentation to support compliance and audit readiness
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the ER team as needed during peak summer volume

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Public Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year completed toward degree preferred (rising junior or senior strongly preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to ensure accuracy in case documentation and data entry
  • Ability to triage, prioritize, and organize multiple incoming requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable pulling and organizing data for reports, dashboards, and trend analysis
  • Strong written communication skills for documenting case notes clearly and professionally
  • Ability to maintain organized records for audit and compliance readiness
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas, data organization)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate case management systems (e.g., Zendesk, ServiceNow, or similar platforms)
