Job DetailsJob Location: Children Square Campus - Council Bluffs, IA 51503Human Resources Generalist
About CSI
Our story begins in Omaha in 1892, when, due to epidemics, poverty and the difficulties of pioneer life, many children were left in need of parental care. CSI met the need in a revolutionary way – putting the well-being of children first and working to be a voice for the voiceless. We seek to champion children and families by providing the mental, emotional and physical spaces they need to feel empowered and to thrive.
Child Saving Institute (CSI) is looking for someone who has a mind full of wonder and a heart-filled desire to make a difference! We’re on a mission to champion what’s best for each child and family.
As an HR Generalist, you’ll be an essential part of our Human Resources team, serving as the primary HR representative independently supporting a wide range of human resources functions with minimal support. Your skill level should be an expert in your areas of responsibility including recruitment, onboarding, training, employee engagement, compliance, and community outreach. In short, our HR Generalist will help create consistency in HR practices, build a positive workplace culture, and strengthen CSI’s presence in the community while managing the day-to-day operations of your assigned campus. This is a fast-paced role where attention to detail is a necessity. If you thrive in an environment where things are always evolving and rather than needing consistency you generate consistency, apply today.
What makes CSI special…
Growth – We encourage development, ongoing learning, and internal career opportunities.
Community – We partner with schools, organizations, and workforce programs to strengthen our impact.
Culture – A supportive, inclusive environment where people feel valued and connected.

Someone who:
Has a positive and reliable work ethic, willing to do what it takes to succeed.
Holds experience working with employees, candidates, and community partners - expert in these areas.
Can confidently manage recruitment and onboarding processes among the daily functions of HR.
Enjoys fostering employee engagement and promoting a culture of inclusivity with a wide variety of workforce populations including practicing healthcare professionals, education professionals, administrations, childcare specialist, shelter staff, support staff across the organization, and so on.
What You’ll Get:
Medical, dental and vision insurance options
Paid vacation and sick accruals
10 paid holidays per year
401(k) matching up to 5% and fully vested right away
Referral bonuses
Tuition reimbursement
Birthing (up to 6 weeks) & non-birthing (up to 2 weeks) at full pay
The opportunity to be a part of a forward-thinking culture!
QualificationsDo you think you’d be a good fit for this role? Ideally, you are:
Experienced in recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
Knowledgeable in training coordination, compliance, and HR operations.
Skilled in building relationships with community partners and educational institutions.
Bonus Points
Experience with HRIS systems and reporting.
Knowledge of benefits administration and performance management processes.
Comfortable representing CSI at community events, career fairs, and networking opportunities.
Vehicle RequirementsValid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Reliable transportation for travel between sites and community events.

Commitment to promoting diversity and creating an inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and respected.
Physical Requirements

Frequent phone and in-person conversations.
Ability to communicate with employees and candidates over the phone.
Occasional need to lift or carry office supplies, training materials, or similar items.
