Human Resources Generalist – Long Beach

This role will participate in various HR projects in a fast paced and continuously evolving environment.  This role will be located inLong Beach, California

What the Job Entails:

Consult with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required.
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

Five years of HR experience with broad based experience administering policies, programs, and projects that span the employee lifecycle (i.e., compliance, talent acquisition, compensation, professional development, and employee relations).
Workday HCM experience preferred
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities

This is a full-time permanent position from 7am to 4pm, Monday to Friday located at 2300 Redondo Ave, Long Beach, CA 90809
