Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Human Resources Generalist located at our Headquarters facility in Millersville, MD. Under general supervision, this position performs a wide range of professional human resources work in support of the agency's HR programs and operations. Provides assistance and support to the Chief and Assistant Chief of Human Resources and to the HR team.
Areas of responsibility include recruitment and pre-employment processing, compensation and benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, HR reporting, and maintenance of HR records and systems. May supervise lower-level HR staff. Work requires a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, and independent judgement.
Estimated Pay Range:
$66,861.04 - $91,933.74

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, human resources, or related field, plus five years of progressively responsible professional human resources experience that includes one or more of the following areas: recruitment, training, benefits administration, employee relations, or affirmative action.
Note: Nine years of qualifying experience, plus a PHR or SHRM-CP certification, may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.
