Work Arrangement: On-site Mon - Thurs, 10-hour shifts scheduled to cover 2nd/3rd shift




The Human Resources Generalist, under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, benefits, payroll, and other general HR duties as assigned at the Mocksville facility.

This role is an on-site position featuring a 4-day work week, with 10-hour shifts scheduled to cover the 2nd/3rd shifts from Monday to Thursday.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates the nonexempt recruiting function. The incumbent actively markets, recruits, interviews, and hires for hourly plant positions. The incumbent maintains the applicant tracking systems and onboards new employees through completion of all required paperwork.
  • Coordinates the plant onboarding program. The incumbent plans, implements, and conducts new hire orientations and ensures a successful and engaging orientation program from start to finish.
  • Serves as local representative for employee benefit programs. The incumbent is the main point of contact at the facility for benefits programs such as such as medical, life, dental, and vision insurances. The Generalist assists the Mocksville workforce with retirement questions and assists the corporate benefits department with the site-specific implementation of wellness initiatives.
  • Maintains plantwide payroll process. The incumbent maintains the employee payroll process and ensures team member time is accurate and submitted timely. The Generalist also works with supervisors/managers to meet payroll deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources OR a Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years in Human Resources experience OR an Associate Degree and 2+ years of Human Resources experience OR 4+ years of HR experience in human resources role(s).
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner
  • Proficient in both oral and written communication
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/other e-mail software
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources
  • Experience working in food processing/manufacturing

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment, with periodic time spent on a refrigerated manufacturing production floor. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

Physical Demands: The physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting, driving, seeing, and hearing.

Travel: Occasional travel to another facility may be required
