Department Overview

The Group Human Resources Supervisory Department, which is part of Rakuten Group, Inc.'s corporate headquarters, is working on human resources reforms to strengthen the Rakuten Group's organizational capabilities.
To address management challenges that arise as our people and businesses diversify and expand, you will join Group HR, which designs and implements workplace policies, systems, and frameworks, and oversees end-to-end labor and HR operations.

Candidates hired through this posting are expected to join the Group Human Resources Supervisory Department within the Corporate Division at Rakuten Headquarters. The department comprises a range of HR functions, including payroll, labor and employee relations, learning and development (L&D), talent acquisition, and HR planning. You will collaborate extensively with other teams through various projects and can build a robust, long-term career path.

We are seeking a candidate who will take primary ownership of the day-to-day performance management operations and lead projects such as program updates and system implementations.

Position Details

of Routine Responsibilities
You will primarily drive the following responsibilities in close collaboration with other team members.


- End-to-end performance cycle operations-from goal setting and self-evaluation, initial to final evaluations and feedback.
- Manage HR system (Workday) operations and testing, and drive system improvements.
- Develop performance policies, timelines, and communications; execute company-wide rollouts.
- Consolidate and analyze evaluation results; report to executives and secure approvals.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to determine and process compensation based on evaluation outcomes.
- Support performance cycle operations for Group companies.
- Create employee-facing manuals and other documentation.
- Propose enhancements to the HR policies.
- Respond to inquiries.

- You may also participate in, and at times manage, projects within the team as well as cross-functional, department-level initiatives.
- English will be required for certain company-wide materials, announcements, and inquiry responses.

Work Environment

You will join a team of approximately 8 to 10 members (currently six full-time employees and two temporary agency staff).

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in Human Resources

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience operating performance management cycles in mid- to large-sized organizations.
- Hands-on experience with Workday.
- Logical thinking and issue-structuring skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
