About the Role

In this role you will play a pivotal role in supporting HR operations, compliance and recruitment across the business, while gaining direct exposure to senior HR leadership, national projects and future career progression within HR. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer and working closely with the Senior Advisors across Australia, you will support the smooth delivery of HR services, maintain HR compliance and legislative requirements, support Australia wide recruitment and interstate engagements and contribute to a positive workplace culture by acting as a key liaison between employees and management.

This role is designed to support the development of an emerging HR professional. You will receive hands-on mentoring from the Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior HR Advisors, exposure to complex HR matters, and opportunities to build capability across employee relations, compliance, recruitment strategy, and HR project delivery. It is ideal for an HR Coordinator or Recruitment Officer looking to take the next step in their HR career, with genuine mentoring, exposure to senior leadership, and involvement in meaningful HR projects across a national organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality HR administrative support, including accurate and confidential maintenance of employee records (HRIS and files), and preparation of contracts, variation letters and HR documentation.
  • Support end-to-end recruitment administration, including job ads, applicant tracking, interview coordination, candidate communication, and pre-employment checks.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities, including system access, uniforms, induction and training coordination, with onboarding completion captured in Employment Hero.
  • Act as a first point of contact for HR queries, providing timely, respectful support and escalating matters appropriately.
  • Support compliance activities, including right-to-work and visa monitoring, licence and trade qualification currency, HR reporting, and audit readiness.
  • Provide support in our Brisbane office with induction, onboarding and training requirements, and other duties as required.
  • Support the Chief HR Officer with diary management, travel arrangements and booking details.
  • Contribute to HR projects, process improvement, and internal HR communications to strengthen service delivery and employee experience (interstate travel will be required)

About You

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar HR or people‑focused administrative role.
  • Previous experience using Employment Hero is essential (highly desirable)
  • Proficiency with HR systems (HRIS) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience supporting end‑to‑end recruitment and the employee lifecycle.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Fair Work legislation and employment regulations is advantageous.
  • Results‑driven, proactive, and able to think creatively to solve problems.
  • Open to feedback and adaptable in approach.
  • Willingness to travel interstate as required.
