The Human Resources Coordinator designs and implements employee health and wellbeing programs and policies to foster a positive and engaging organizational culture. This role collaborates with insurers, healthcare providers, and external vendors to promote wellness through on-site health events, educational classes, assessments and screenings, and accessible informational resources.

In addition to wellness initiatives, the Human Resources Coordinator supports broader Human Resources operations and strategic goals. This includes administering employee benefits, maintaining and optimizing the HRIS database, and ensuring accurate, compliant personnel records management. The Coordinator plays a key role in the organization, retention, and confidentiality of employee records, supporting audits, reporting, and regulatory compliance. The position also provides payroll support and contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of HR processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain a comprehensive wellness program
  • Work closely with the lead HR administrator to assess employee needs and implement benefits programs that are competitive, sustainable, and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manage the administration of group insurance plans and employee benefit programs, providing employee support through benefits education, enrollment, life event changes, terminations, and resolution of employee benefit-related inquiries.
  • Support HR administration with FMLA requests
  • Serve as HRIS administrator, maintain and update employee data including new employee information, status changes, salary increases, benefits and payroll information, and when an employee exits
  • Communicate with employees regarding personnel documentation, timesheets, leave balances, and other paperwork issues
  • Oversee the maintenance, organization, and security of employee records, including personnel files and benefits documentation, while ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records, and work in conjunction with the Finance Dep. to assist with each payroll
  • Oversee the maintenance, tracking, and verification of employee licenses, transcripts, credentials, and certification documentation.
  • Coordinate and administer new employee surveys to gather feedback and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support the development of budgets, policies, and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient administration of employee wellness and benefits programs.
  • Manage daily monitoring of the HR inbox, ensuring timely responses, appropriate routing, and delegation of requests to support efficient HR operations.
  • Participate in the CIS team approach to problem solving
  • Promote and maintain agency culture, standards, and systems
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the department lead

What You Bring

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in employee wellness program development and/or administration
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service and effectively resolve problems
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism, with the ability to build positive working relationships across a diverse workforce.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced nonprofit setting.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and virtual communication tools including MS Teams and Zoom
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, personnel management, business administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
