Job Description

The Human Resources Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and collaborates with managers, employees, and Human Resource (HR) colleagues at The Community Solution Education System (System Office) to support daily HR operations and provide exceptional customer service. This role assists with a broad range of human resource functions including recruitment, onboarding, HRIS administration, employee records management, benefits administration, compliance, employee engagement, and general HR support.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain confidential employee files, records, and electronic HR data utilizing the Human Resource Information System (Workday).
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for employee and applicant inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, benefits, onboarding, and employment-related questions.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities including posting positions, monitoring applicant flow, scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, and supporting hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities including offer documentation, background check coordination, orientation scheduling, new hire paperwork, and separation processes.
  • Facilitate completion and tracking of onboarding requirements and ensure employee files are complete and compliant.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating organizational charts, employee directories, and HR documentation.
  • Support employee benefits administration, including employee communication, enrollment assistance, and responding to benefit-related questions.
  • Coordinate and monitor required employee training and compliance initiatives through organizational systems and platforms.
  • Assist with payroll-related processes and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to ensure employee information is accurate and timely.
  • Generate HR reports and assist with maintaining workforce metrics and data tracking.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and HR-related events and activities.
  • Become knowledgeable regarding KHSU-KansasCOM policies and procedures in order to educate employees and assist with resolving routine questions and concerns.
  • Support the Director of Human Resources with employee relations matters, investigations, documentation, and administrative follow-up.
  • Assist with maintaining employee and faculty handbook materials and support policy updates and implementation efforts.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment regulations and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and professionalism in all employee interactions.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of progressively responsible human resources, administrative, or coordinator experience required.
  • Experience in higher education, healthcare, nonprofit, or professional environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience utilizing Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Workday strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe products.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and customer service skills required.
