Job Description

We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as an HR Coordinator. This role offers a great chance for someone with a background in HR coordination and administration to play a key part in supporting the continued growth and success of our HR department.

The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for providing comprehensive HR support for Canad Inns. This includes ensuring accurate data capture for all employees, managing mandatory training and performance reviews, and performing regular HR duties. The ideal candidate will have strong technology skills, be highly organized, and able to multitask while maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing and processing all HR-related paperwork accurately and efficiently, including new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, salary increases, and other changes to employee information.
  • Support employee relations matters, including assisting with investigations, documentation, and disciplinary processes.
  • Coordinate Health & Safety initiatives, including incident reporting, WCB claims, and maintaining related records.
  • Administer employee programs and support ongoing HR initiatives and internal processes.
  • Prepare and draft employee-requested documentation, such as employment letters, confirmations, and other HR correspondence.
  • Ensuring timely submission of relevant information to Payroll for salary and benefit payments.
  • Maintaining and updating employee personnel files.
  • Coordinating performance appraisals for all hourly paid staff according to Canad Inns policy.
  • Creating and managing reports, documents, and presentations as needed.
  • Preparing training documentation and materials for employee development programs.
  • Preparing reports on the training and development status of employees.
  • Ensuring HR processes and procedures are consistently followed and communicated.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in HR coordination or administration.
  • Extremely strong technology skills, with proficiency in various software platforms.
  • Ability to create and manage reports, documents, and presentations easily.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Basic understanding of employment laws and practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with database management and record-keeping.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collect and analyze information effectively.
  • Experience in employee training and development is a plus, but not required.
