British American Tobacco Brasil has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner Manager in Sao Paulo

This role will be pivotal in developing and implementing people strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness and employee engagement across Operations (Supply Chain, New Products Introduction, Procurement, Sustainability and Workplace Solutions) by building strong relationships with business leaders to become a trusted advisor and develop an HR agenda aligned with the overall business strategy across Latam South Markets: Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Paraguay.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Business Understanding: Grasp the dynamics and key business priorities for Operations teams, ensuring the necessary capabilities, organizational design (OD), and talent are in place to deliver strategies aligned with the overall talent agenda.
  • Talent and Diversity Strategy: Design and drive talent and diversity strategies within Operations (Supply Chain, New Products Introduction, Procurement, Sustainability and Workplace Solutions), coaching leadership teams to manage all people management processes effectively.
  • Collaboration: Partner with learning & development colleagues and talent acquisition on strategies and initiatives that support the organization’s workforce plan and talent strategy.
  • Transformation Leadership: Work with functional leadership teams to drive transformation through large-scale OD and changes in ways of working, talent sourcing, and development.
  • Talent Management: Partner with Talent & Organizational Effectiveness (OE) to design and implement specific talent management, employee engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Inclusive Culture: Champion an inclusive culture and foster a culturally diverse workforce.
  • Analytics and Insights: Build analytics capabilities to track HR metrics and provide key stakeholders with insights to inform decision-making.
  • Rewards Strategy: Partner with Rewards to design and implement specific rewards strategies.
  • Team Management: Lead a team of direct reports, including analysts and coordinators, by setting directions, managing priorities, providing coaching and feedback, supporting career development, fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment, and ensuring high-quality delivery against business and HR priorities.
  • HR Processes Management implementation, including: Rewards, Organizational Design and Effectiveness, Talent management, development, recruitment, and succession planning, Base salary determination and review (e.g., dual career ladders, job evaluation), annual bonus, and long-term incentives (stock options and restricted stock), Strategic workforce planning, Leadership coaching, Employee relations

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field; graduate degree preferred.
  • 6 to 8 years in progressively responsible roles within Human Resources, including HR Business Partner or similar specialist roles. Previous rotation in a specialist role is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience, with the ability to lead and develop individuals at all levels and with diverse skill sets.
  • Self-motivated and confident, comfortable operating with minimal direction, and thriving in a dynamic environment as a leader influencing change and transformation.
  • Strong understanding of legal and HR risks and compliance.
  • Knowledgeable in leading-edge business practices, trends, and information; aware of reward and benefits strategies and innovative tactics in the marketplace.
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to build credibility among peers and senior leadership to gain commitment and support for major initiatives while prioritizing the company’s interests.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and exceptional stakeholder management skills. Comfortable navigating matrix structures.
  • Advanced level in English and Spanish
