We are looking for a talented individual to join the Human Resources team as a Human Resources Business Partner – Airways (24‑Month Contract). At Voyageur Aviation Corp. you'll have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative team to create meaningful impact and drive results.

The Contract - Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a crucial role in supporting and aligning human resources initiatives with the strategic objectives within the Airways Division. This role serves as a trusted advisor and consultant to both Management and Employees within the Airways Division, providing guidance and expertise on a wide range of HR strategies, policies and processes.

Employee Relations & Performance Management:

  • Assist Managers with setting performance goals in alignment with the division’s strategic objectives, facilitating regular performance evaluations and supporting managers with the identification of any performance issues as required.
  • Supporting Managers with creating performance improvement plans that have clear goals ensuring employees receive necessary support. Monitoring progress regularly and ensuring adjustments are made when necessary.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for employees and managers on a variety of employee relations issues, ensuring a prompt and fair resolution. Including but not limited to mediating conflicts, conducting investigations and providing recommendations for actions based on investigation outcomes when applicable.
  • Oversee absence management, including tracking and documenting employee leave, supporting employees with disabilities by coordinating reasonable accommodation and ensuring an inclusive and supportive work environment.
  • Draft various employee communications and ensure all communications are accurate, clear, and comply with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Plan and conduct exit interviews with departing employees and analyzing exit interview data to identify trends and areas for improvement within the division.
  • Assist in crafting detailed and accurate position profiles and ensure that position profiles are aligned with the strategic objectives and goals of the division.

Talent Acquisition and Development:

  • End-to-end talent acquisition for the division includes developing and maintaining a robust talent pipeline for all roles.
  • Create and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies tailored to the divisions’ needs utilizing multiple recruitment channels.
  • Lead structured and competency-based interviews and use various assessment tools to objectively measure candidates’ abilities.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to gain a deep understanding of their staffing needs, team dynamics, and specific role requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all recruitment activities, including candidate pipelines, interview outcomes, and hiring metrics.

HR Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Working closely with HR leadership to identify unique needs and challenges of the division, ensuring that HR policies are tailored to address these specifics including regularly updating and refining HR policies to reflect changes in legislation, organizational objectives, and feedback from employees and managers within the division.
  • Provide support and clarification to managers and employees, and industry standards that impact HR policies and practices.
  • Conduct regular reviews of existing HR policies to identify areas that require updates or adjustments to maintain compliance and alignment with best practices.
  • Design and deliver training programs to educate managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and compliance obligations including offering one-on-one coaching and support to managers and developing and distributing educational materials such as handbooks, FAQs, and online resources to reinforce understanding of HR policies and compliance requirements.

Compliance, Risk Management and Change Leadership:

  • Assist in the development and execution of change management strategies to support organizational changes, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum acceptance.
  • Act as a change agent within the division, promoting understanding and buy-in from employees and managers.
  • Provide tools, resources, and support to managers and employees to help them navigate and adapt to changes effectively.
  • Develop comprehensive communication plans to inform divisional leaders and employees about changes in HR policies, procedures, or practices.

Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent education
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Limited knowledge of aviation regulations as it relates to training and documentation requirements.
  • Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, and quick to learn new technology (i.e., systems/platforms).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills.
