Elections Alberta is an independent, non-partisan office of the Legislature. Elections Alberta is responsible for administering provincial elections, by-elections and referendums. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for providing human resources support to Elections Alberta/Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (OCEO). This includes the hiring, commencement, and onboarding of all full time and wage employees in the Edmonton office, while also supporting the acquisition of up-to 20,000 election workers, as needed, during a provincial general electoral event.
The HRBP is expected to provide a wide range of integrated human services to a varied group of employees, while working independently or with management to support the fulfillment of the OCEO’s goals. The HRBP position is further responsible for supporting the attraction and retention of qualified and suitable employees, analyzing and classifying positions, providing support in the areas of employee relations and performance management, and for supporting management in the maintenance of HCM data in 1GX.
