Under the direction of the Human Resources (HR) Manager, the HR Associate performs the necessary functions to support the HR team. Such functions include hourly payroll and accounts payable administration, onboarding, processing unemployment, maintaining company training and personnel files, assists with recruiting and assisting with other HR office functions as needed. The position requires frequent contact with personnel inside and outside the company, requiring reasonable tact, discretion, interpersonal skills, and working knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
• Partners with corporate to maintain plantwide hourly payroll processes by ensuring team members time is accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Also assists with troubleshooting questions.
• Creates and maintains PO’s for the plant
• Assists with setting up new vendors in the system
• Serves as a backup for recruitment
• Assist with new hire orientation as needed
• Serves as a backup for routing facility calls and directs visitors arriving at the Irving facility. Serves as a backup contact for visitors and vendors entering the facility
• All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Associate Degree OR 1+ years in a administrative support role or supporting internal or external customers
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner
• Proficient in both English & Spanish
• Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/other e-mail software
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in food processing/manufacturing
• Prior HR or administrative experience

Work Environment: The work environment is an office environment with standard temperatures and normal office noise levels.
Physical Demands: This position would be primarily sitting with little to no lifting or other physical demands. Subject to extended periods of sitting, working on PC and talking on telephone.
