Human Resources Assistant - Skyjack Plant 1

Reporting to the HR Manager you will assist the facility HR team in an entry level position supporting all areas of Human Resources including employee relations, staffing, recruitment, training, data entry, benefits, and leaves.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday in office (and plant floor support), overtime and shift flexibility when required

Performance Expectations

• Process, verify and register documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, hourly performance evaluations, leave of absences and benefits, follow up with employee absences
• Prepare and process employee separation confirmations and related documentation
• Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
• Arrange for advertising or posting of job vacancies, assist in screening and rating of job applicants in coordination with cross functional departments
• Arrange and schedule in-house and external training and review training needs based on job specific requitements
• Complete administrative functions (schedule training, complete LOEs, filing paperwork, electronic filing, benefits LTD payment tracking, ID badge printing, process invoices and reimbursements, HRIS system changes)
• Full Onboarding/Recruitment: post job requisitions in HRIS and Internally where applicable, screen resumes, interview, create job offers
• Prepare orientation packages for new hires / transfers / contract workers
• Conduct orientation presentation for newly hired employees in a group setting including reviewing policies, procedures and assisting with completing new hire documentation for payroll
• Process benefit enrolment and terminations in applicable systems (health benefits, Pension and GRSP)
• Maintain and update employee records in HRIS (Oracle)
• Plan and coordinate employee length of service celebrations and other company events
• Compile and prepare reports relating to personnel activities and events
• Administrative support for the Joint Health and Safety Committee
• Social Committee Representative (planning employee events and selling tickets)
• Perform other duties/projects as assigned

Credentials

• Degree or diploma in Human Resources Management
• Able to demonstrate knowledge or current Employment Legislation
• Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (HRIS is an asset)
• One to two years of administrative experience (Human Resources specific is an asset)
• Working towards a CHRP designation is an asset
• Ability to support Skyjack Plant 1 and the Skyjack Kitchener Facility
