The Human Resources Assistant plays a key role in supporting Didlake’s mission by ensuring smooth HR operations that directly impact employee experience, compliance, and staffing processes. The Human Resources Assistant works closely with the Human Resources team to provide administrative and operational support. This position assists with HR projects, employee customer service, onboarding activities, and the daily operations of the HR Department. By maintaining accurate personnel records, supporting onboarding and benefits activities, and serving as a primary point of contact for staff and visitors, this role helps ensure employees receive the resources and support they need to thrive. Because this role handles sensitive employee and company information, a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality is required. This is an onsite position.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain and update personnel filing systems, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Respond to audit requests by providing required personnel information.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, including preparing and entering HR documentation into the HRIS throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Provide primary coverage for the telephone switchboard; screen and direct calls appropriately.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for administration office visitors and provide directions or referrals.
  • Maintain office resources such as the GHRA contact sheet, office key inventory/sign-out process, and postage meter.
  • Assist the Benefits Administrator with routine employee inquiries, benefits packets, notifications, and open enrollment support.
  • Explain the application process and direct applicants to Didlake’s career resources.
  • Assist with staffing and onboarding tasks including conducting background checks, processing I-9 and E-Verify, reviewing new hire packets, and forwarding documentation for processing.
  • Provide administrative support for HR and general office needs, including filing, correspondence, supply ordering, photocopying, faxing, and document preparation.
  • Provide authorized wage and employment verification information to financial institutions and government agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws, CBA requirements, and company policies.
  • Support department leadership by fostering teamwork, modeling professionalism, and demonstrating strong work ethics.

Qualifications

What You Bring

This role is best suited for someone with strong administrative and organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and professional phone and email etiquette. Experience supporting Human Resources functions, including onboarding and employee lifecycle processes, is preferred, along with the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED plus two (2) years of relevant HR experience, required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Experience with employee onboarding, including I-9 completion, and employee lifecycle processes is strongly preferred.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively with people with disabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
