Aptiv of La Crosse, WI is hiring a part-time Human Resources Assistant to support our HR team with day-to-day administrative tasks. This position is a great fit for someone new to HR, returning to the workforce, or looking for steady part-time office work in a positive, mission-driven environment.

What You’ll Do
As a Part-Time Human Resources Assistant, you’ll help keep HR operations running smoothly while supporting employees and new hires. You’ll handle a variety of administrative tasks and assist with front desk coverage as needed. Training and support are provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist applicants and new hires during the hiring and onboarding process
- Complete new hire paperwork (I‑9, W‑4, direct deposit, system access, etc.)
- Help organize and maintain electronic employee personnel files
- Assist with employee orientations on a rotating schedule (some late afternoon/early evening sessions)
- Enter and update employee information in HR systems
- Help track licenses, certifications, and required documentation
- Answer basic questions related to pay, benefits, and HR processes
- Maintain confidentiality and follow established policies and procedures
- Provide backup coverage for the front desk as needed, including greeting visitors, answering phones, and directing inquiries appropriately
What We’re Looking For
This role is ideal for someone who is organized, reliable, and enjoys administrative work.
Preferred

Qualifications
- Some education or coursework in Human Resources, Business, or Administration or relevant work experience
- Previous administrative or office experience is helpful, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized
- Comfortable working with computers and basic office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.)
- Good communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Comfortable providing occasional front desk and reception support in a professional, welcoming manner
Schedule & Pay
- Part-time position, Monday–Friday during daytime hours
- Flexibility needed for occasional events and orientation sessions
- Starting pay range: $18.50–$20.00 per hour, based on education, skills, and experience
