Job Description

Position Summary

The Human Resources & Labor Compliance Specialist supports Pike Electric by helping ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. You will assist with immigration processes, labor compliance, employee benefits administration, insurance programs, workers' compensation, and risk‑related initiatives. Working collaboratively with HR and business leaders, you will help promote compliance, mitigate risk, and support a well‑managed and legally sound workforce. This is an on-site position based out of one of our Pike Electric office locations.

Essential Functions:

  • Support employment‑based immigration processes, including coordinating documentation and timelines.
  • Assist with Form I‑9 compliance and E‑Verify administration to help ensure accurate and timely completion.
  • Partner with external immigration counsel by gathering information and supporting petition preparation and filings.
  • Track visa expiration dates and assist with renewal processes to maintain work authorization compliance.
  • Help ensure compliance with Department of Labor (DOL), USCIS, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support compliance efforts related to ADA, ADEA, EEOC, FLSA, and other employment laws.
  • Participate in internal audits and reviews to help identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
  • Assist in responding to agency inquiries, audits, and investigations under the guidance of senior leadership.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations for process improvements to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Stay informed on changes in employment laws and regulations, sharing relevant updates with the team.
  • Collaborate with corporate human resources partners to ensure alignment with company policies and practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of the HR and compliance functions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2-4 year degree and 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of labor law compliance and workers' compensation.
  • Construction/Utility industry experience is ideal but not required.
  • Experience administering employee benefits and insurance programs.
