Our client is a leading distributor of technology, services, and lifestyle products in Sub-Saharan Africa. They currently have an opening for a Human Resources and Admin Manager

.

The Human Resources and Administration Manager oversees and improves the company's human resource and administrative functions at a strategic level. This role includes effective planning, delegation, coordination, staffing, and decision-making to achieve profitable outcomes for the company. Additionally, it involves developing strategies, policies, and facilitating changes for group integration and synergy, as well as coordinating and receiving feedback from business units and line managers.


Responsibilities:


  • ∙Develop the strategic direction for administrative functions and implement budgets and business targets at both group and Strategic Business Unit (SBU) levels.

  • Prepare and manage the HR and Admin budget, while monitoring and controlling administrative service costs.

  • Lead and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of HR services to staff and management.

  • Manage shared services infrastructure to promote group integration, cost reduction, standardization, and institutionalization.

  • Implement best practices driven by technology in human resources, facilities management, and administrative functions across the company.

  • Implement comprehensive company policies and procedures supported by active monitoring and compliance management systems across the group; ensure that group and SBU HR policies comply with local legislation.

  • Interface with labor offices and administrations, deploying HR efficiently to ensure appropriate matches between positions.

  • Ensure management accountability in carrying out roles and responsibilities within the performance management system.

  • Provide feedback to management on employee engagement and establish clear links to organizational performance.

  • Oversee the maintenance of all staff records to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Oversee general office administration, developing and implementing supporting systems and processes to enhance business operations.

  • Prepare career progression and succession planning programs.

  • Manage industrial relations within the company.

  • Develop and implement HR management strategies to support the attainment of corporate goals, including the management of budgets and resources.

  • Ensure that values and culture are clearly defined, communicated, and embedded within the group and SBUs; drive the implementation of these through a performance-based reward and consequence management system.

  • Develop and implement strategies for identifying and managing talent, organizational design, and workforce planning; provide input and support for staffing decisions.

  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

  • Develop employee wellness initiatives and strategies.

  • Develop employee career development and succession plans.

  • Provide professional advice and guidance on people management practices to optimize workforce performance.

  • Track and monitor HR metrics in line with HR strategy; deploy appropriate interventions where necessary.

  • Review group-wide HR policies and procedures, including recruitment, training, performance management, and career development.

  • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate all work activities of business partners in the SBUs related to employment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.

  • Receive feedback on workforce performance; support and equip line managers to manage performance.

  • Serve as a link between management and staff, handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts, and helping resolve work-related problems.

  • Ensure the implementation of HR policies at the SBU level.

  • Build and strengthen staff competencies through appropriate learning and development interventions.

  • Drive capacity building, learning, and development to address capability gaps and promote a good learning culture.


Requirements


  • BSc. /HND in any of the social sciences from a recognized Tertiary institution

  • Other related professional certifications acquired will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR Practice with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

  • Proven generalist experience, including the ability to work at both strategic and operational levels in HR and Admin.

  • Experience in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

  • Experience at recruitment (sourcing, interviewing and assessment), performance management, career management etc.

  • Experience in a multinational organization will be an added advantage.
