Tuknik Government Services, LLC Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Human Resource Specialist 3 (Employee Benefits & In-Processing) to support TGS and our government customer Stennis Space Center, MS.This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

This role will be remote.

This is a temporary position through Dec 31st.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Human Resources Specialist to administer federal employee benefits and coordinate employee in-processing activities. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality human resources services by ensuring employees receive accurate guidance on federal benefits, timely onboarding support, and exceptional customer service throughout the employment lifecycle. The incumbent applies federal human resources laws, regulations, Office of Personnel Management (OPM) guidance, and agency policies to process benefits and process personnel actions related to benefits. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while safeguarding sensitive personnel information in a fast-paced environment. This position will be remote and will support TGS and our government customer. This opportunity offers the chance to work with some of the best and brightest minds across the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC).

Responsibilities:
• Knowledge in the federal employee benefits programs, including health insurance, life insurance, retirement, flexible spending accounts, long-term care, and the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies.
• Manage and process employee benefits elections for new hires, qualifying life events, open season changes within established timeframes.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, onboarding, providing timely and accurate guidance with a strong focus on customer service.
• Manage cases for employee in-processing for newly hired, transferred, and reinstated employees, ensuring completion of all required onboarding documentation and employment forms.
• Prepare, review, and process benefits using applicable HR systems while maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Transmit documents to official personnel records and benefits documentation in accordance with federal regulations, agency policies, and records management requirements.
• Perform other human resources duties related to benefits administration, onboarding, and employee services as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 8 years of related human resources experience.
• Knowledge of onboarding, benefits administration, and HR support functions.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting federal HR operations.
• Familiarity with USA Staffing Onboarding, HRSD systems, and electronic personnel records.
• Knowledge of federal employee benefits programs and OPM regulations.
• Experience working in a remote and/or collaborative team environment.

Education:
• High School Diploma is required.
