Job Description

Human Resource - Compliance and Training Specialist

Wage: $50,000-52,000/ annually

Coordinates and delivers training and staff development programs for Security Officers, Supervisors and other company personnel. Adapts programs for specific sites and customers. Performs other protective services as required for assigned site(s). This position includes some travel, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Training and HR experience preferred
  • Administrative experience required
  • DCJS license/certification required
  • Must be eligible to obtain DCJS Instructor Certification

  • All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized companyrepresentatives.

  1. Instructs Security Officers and other company employees in legally mandated and company mandated training requirements; ensures compliance with and documents the training requirements of client contract(s).

  1. Delivers a variety of courses that may include: new employee orientation, on-the-job training, health and safety practices, customer service techniques and supervisorydevelopment as well as client specific requirements.

  1. Follows established training policies, programs and schedules to conduct courses; coordinates training activities so as not to conflict with client serviceschedules. Assists Training Coordinator as needed.

  1. Uses appropriate instructional procedures or methods, such as individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role-playing, and computer basedtraining.

  1. Distributes training manuals; administers tests and evaluations; coordinates reference library, multimedia visual aids, and other educationalmaterials.

  1. Maintains records and prepares reports to evaluate performance and monitor progress oftrainees.

  1. May perform additional security services functions as permitted under any required Security Officer license and as specified for the assigned site(s), in addition to Training Officerduties.

  1. Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for assignedsite(s).

Minimum Qualifications at Entry:

Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.

Minimum Hiring Standards:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., pager orphone).

  • Must have a reliable means of transportation (public orprivate).

  • Must have the legal right to work in the UnitedStates.

  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and writeEnglish.

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and backgroundinvestigation.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or G.E.D.; six months of consistent and highly competent Security Officer experience; lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing):

  • Successful completion of Train-the-Trainer (or equivalent)requirements.

  • ACT program certification (or equivalent).

  • Demonstrated ability to perform at a high level without being subjected to disciplinary actions on a sustained basis for at least 6months.

  • Skill in the use of audio-visual equipment and personal computers, including presentationsoftware.

  • Oral and written communications skills; presentation and group facilitationskills.

  • Skill in the delivery of training programs in multiplesettings.

  • Ability to understand the security service needs of customers and devise appropriate training strategies.

  • Skill in observation, coaching and providing feedback toassociates.

  • May be required to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers and/or authorization for training SecurityOfficers.

  • May require valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to carry out multiple assignmentsconcurrently.

  • Ability to be an effective team member and handle project assignmentsresponsibly.

  • Strong customer service and resultsorientation.
