The HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a trusted advisor to managers, supporting day-to-day people matters while driving effective hiring and talent practices. This role combines hands-on talent acquisition with tactical HR partnership, including managing employee relations matters, and executing core HR programs.

The HRBP plays a key role in ensuring a consistent, compliant, and people-focused approach across the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Support

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and drive end-to-end recruitment
  • Support all administrative functions of the recruitment process including job postings, references and background checks, documentation, HRIS updates, offers and onboarding.
  • Provide guidance on hiring decisions, market insights, and compensation alignment
  • Ensure a structured and consistent recruitment process

2. Manager Support & Coaching

  • Advise managers on performance management, feedback conversations, and team effectiveness
  • Provide guidance on employee development, engagement, and retention strategies
  • Coach managers on handling complex or sensitive people situations

3. Employee Relations & Investigations

  • Manage day-to-day employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and workplace concerns
  • Support investigations in collaboration with senior HR or legal where required
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment legislation

4. HR Program Execution

  • Support the implementation of HR programs such as performance reviews, onboarding, and engagement initiatives
  • Ensure consistency and adoption of HR policies and practices across teams
  • Partner with leadership to roll out key people initiatives
  • Support reporting and tracking of key HR metrics

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in HR, HRBP, or HR Generalist roles
  • Experience supporting talent acquisition and full-cycle recruitment
  • Strong understanding of employee relations and employment practices
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving environment (consulting or tech preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (CPHR or equivalent is an asset)
