We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner ideally from an FMCG background with a strong operational background, who is self-driven, knowledgeable across the full HR value chain with the ability to interchange and work cross the various HR functions. For the period the incumbent will be relieving particular focus will be placed on Employment Equity, BBBEE, Skills Development and engagement with FoodBev Seta, wage negotiations and employee relations in general as well annual external audits related to FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001:2015
The role entails but is not limited to:
Employee Relations and union engagement
Provide support and guidance on disciplinary related matters
Representation at the CCMA
Engagement with the union (including external union officials)
Wage Negotiations
Employment Equity and transformation
Coordination and tracking EE committee meetings
Driving compliance with the support of the EE Manager & GM (s24)
Monitor progress against targets and provide reports
Submission of EE reports to the DOL
DOL audits
BBBBEE Management
Support the BBBEE committee in tracking and implementing transformation I initiatives
Lead the verification and audit processes (or actions linked to this)
Update the BEE123 toolkit - Skills Development and Management control
Skills Development and Seta Engagement
Plan and drive the implementation of skills initiatives within the business
Track progress of the plan against actual YTD completion and against budget
Track progress of learnerships within the business
Apply for discretionary grants with the SETA in line with business requirements
Track grant payments with the SETA and internal finance team
Manage the relationship with the SETA (FoodBev Seta)
Talent, Learning and Development
Facilitate training interventions and development programmes
Assist with succession planning and talent reviews
Support the onboarding and integration of new employees
Support performance management processes
Employee Engagement/Culture and purpose initiatives
Drive employee engagement initiatives
Support employee wellness and organisation culture programmes
Act as a liaison between head office culture team and local culture agents
HR Operations and Compliance
Ensure readiness for audits (internal and external)
Review and improve HR processes
Review HR policies and SOPs
Ensure compliance with labour legislation and company policies
Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Manager/ Industrial Psychology or similar
5 to 6 years of progress HR generalist experience, with at least 3 years in a similar role
Good understanding of labour and Skills legislation including BCEA, EEA, LRA & Skills Development Act
Previous exposure to audits related to SEDEX (ETI Base codes), ISO 9001:2015 and FSSC 22000 from an HR/people perspective
Previous experience with submission of Employment Equity reports for the DOL annual reporting
Previous experience with BBBEE (planning, implementation of initiatives aimed at improving the scorecard, verification processes etc.) – advantageous of candidate has previous experience working on the BEE123 toolkit
Previous experience with driving skills development initiatives
Previous experience with FoodBev Seta for both discretionary and mandatory grants as well as other engagements related to skills within the business.
Proven negotiation skills and sound commercial judgement
Good communication and stakeholder management skills
