Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) – HR & Payroll

Whitehall, Michigan | Full-Time

We’re looking for an energetic, compassionate, detail-oriented HR Business Partner to join our Whitehall team!

This is more than a traditional HR role. You’ll be the heartbeat of HR and Payroll for the facility—supporting employees, partnering with leadership, welcoming new hires, solving payroll issues, strengthening culture, and making sure our employees are supported from their first day through every paycheck.

What You’ll Do

As the facility HRBP, you’ll take ownership of both Human Resources and Payroll responsibilities, including:

• Serve as the facility’s primary HR and Payroll contact
• Review and audit timecards to ensure employees are paid accurately and timely
• Manage timekeeping, missing punches, PTO, attendance, and payroll corrections
• Partner closely with Corporate Payroll to resolve payroll discrepancies and adjustments
• Educate and assist employees with payroll, timekeeping, deductions, and pay-related questions
• Maintain accurate employee information within the HRIS
• Lead facility recruitment and help us find great people
• Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee retention
• Support employee relations, coaching, investigations, performance management, and corrective action
• Assist employees with benefits, FMLA, leaves of absence, and workers’ compensation
• Process and maintain garnishments, child support orders, and other required documentation
• Support OSHA, EEOC, credentialing, and HR compliance requirements
• Maintain confidential personnel and payroll records
• Partner directly with facility leadership and Corporate HR/Payroll to support operational needs

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of HR experience preferred
• Payroll and/or timekeeping experience strongly preferred
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience preferred
• Knowledge of federal and Michigan employment laws
• Experience with HRIS/timekeeping systems and Microsoft Office
• Skilled nursing, long-term care, or healthcare experience is a plus
