The Human Capital Officer provides tactical and strategic support to the HC Business Partner / HC Associate in the various sub-functional areas of HC for the respective Business Unit assigned and will provide support to all Business Units in Trinidad & Tobago and Barbados as required. He/ She partners with the Line and provides assistance/ guidance on all HC related issues and policies relating to the effective use of the Human Capital. While the incumbents function in specialized areas, they are required to be generalists, performing activities related to all areas of the HC function with a focus on efficiency, accuracy and total customer satisfaction.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Recruitment and Selection
• Manage the recruitment and selection process for the respective Business Unit assigned and other
• Business Units in T&T and Barbados as required. Actively participate in the recruitment and selection of Staff.
• Build and maintain a pool of qualified applicants via employment agencies/ recruiters, social media, career fairs etc.
• Keep abreast of industry practices to ensure that attraction strategies are in keeping with best practices.
• Budgets, Reconciliation and Variance Reporting.

2. Performance Management
• Provide training, advice and counsel on performance management and the appropriate performance improvement interventions, develop appropriate plans and monitor the progress of such plans.
• Conduct performance management refresher sessions and new hire orientation sessions.
• Ensure all staff are educated and comfortable with the performance management process.
• Probation Management administration - ensure that performance appraisals are developed for all new hires, transferred and promoted employees and all relevant documents are updated.
• Manage the submission of year-end performance appraisals.
• Monitor and analyze performance trends on a regular consistent basis in a proactive way and address root causes when there is poor performance along department and historic lines.
• Oversee HC’s Key Performance Metrics, as per strategic plan, reporting on as required.
• Manage HC reports as required ensuring data accuracy and relevance.

3. Training & Development
• Work closely with the Line and each department to close training gaps that have been escalated from HR Analyst.

4. Survey Management
• Administer the Agent Satisfaction survey and ensure reports are submitted to various branches.
• Administer all survey instruments, perform relevant analysis and make recommendations for improvements.

5. Compensation & Benefits
• Support the Manager with the preparation and response of compensation surveys.

6. Employee Relations
• Manage the employee relations climate towards achieving harmonious relations between employee and management.
• Provide advice and direction based on good industrial relations practice.
• Build the people management capability in this regard, through varying media, with the aim of continuously decreasing employee relations issues.

7. Job Analysis / Evaluation
• Function as Secretary on the Job Evaluation Committee and or function as an active member of the job evaluation committee, ensuring that all jobs are properly evaluated using the Hay Methodology.
• Ensure job documents are updated to reflect the changing business landscape and work with the Line to create/ review Job Documents as required.
• Ensure that all Job documents stored in the repository are updated with the relevant changes.

8. People Management
• Lead, motivate, inspire, and encourage employees through effective performance management, setting of clear goals and objectives, ensuring that performance gaps are closed through relevant training, monitoring work performance through continuous performance discussions and timely completion of appraisals as well seek to align reward to performance.

9. Relationship Management
• Work with the line in any change initiative that they may have and provide the necessary support from an HC perspective.
• Work towards continuously improving engagement levels across the company.

10. To perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the Executive / Business Partner.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• First degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences or any other related field from a recognized tertiary level educational institution.
• 5 CXC/ CSEC passes including Mathematics and English Language.
• 2 A’ Level/ CAPE passes.
• 3 years’ experience in the area of Human Resource Management or General Management.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The Human Capital Officer must have exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to develop and manage relationships at all levels throughout the organization. The individual must possess strong problem solving skills and be able to make sound decisions. He/ She must be meticulous and have a keen eye for detail. The individual must be flexible, highly adaptive to changes in the organization and possess a strong customer oriented focus and a genuine care and concern for all stakeholders.
