The Timekeeping Unit supports all DCWP staff through the accurate and efficient management of time and leave records. We’re seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Timekeeping Associate to help maintain accurate employee timekeeping records, process time and leave transactions, and ensure compliance with city policies and procedures. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with systems, values accuracy and organization, and is committed to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

The Timekeeping Associate/ Principal Administrative Associate responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and review daily employee timesheet submissions in CityTime for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with agency and citywide policies;
  • Review reports related to time and leave usage to identify and resolve discrepancies;
  • Assist employees and supervisors with timekeeping inquiries, timesheet adjustments, and leave balance clarifications;
  • Maintain and update CityTime approval assignments, employee profiles, and schedules for all staff;
  • Track and manage employee time usage, accruals, and manual leave adjustments;
  • Review and process DP2001 forms for employees transferring between agencies;
  • Coordinate and lead Time and Leave training sessions for new hires, ensuring a clear understanding of policies and procedures;
  • Generate and manage confidential timekeeping reports from NYC systems, including NYCAPS, CHRMS, and PMS;
  • Stay informed of updates to citywide Time and Leave policies, ensuring compliance in all timekeeping practices;
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling employee time and leave records; and
  • Complete special projects and related timekeeping tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.

Skills Requirement

Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
