Position Overview:

Responsible for the execution, documentation, and reporting of all activities, documents, and data—both hard copy and electronic—related to the vessel's hull and structural condition and maintenance, covering both dry-docking periods and vessel operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the docking schedule for all vessels in coordination with Ship Management.
  • Conduct Pre-Docking Surveys no later than five (5) months prior to the agreed docking schedule in coordination with Ship Management.
  • Collect and analyze data obtained from onboard surveys to prepare the Detailed Repair List and Estimated Docking Cost, including preparing material and spare parts requisitions required for docking, subject to approval from the vessel's Ship Manager.
  • Monitor docking activities at the shipyard, particularly Blasting & Painting, Steel Work, and Outfitting, in coordination with the Ship Repair Manager or Project Superintendent appointed by the shipyard.
  • Monitor floating repairs carried out before or after docking when the repair items remain within the scope of the docking work, and report the progress to the Coordinator and vessel's Ship Manager.
  • Attend and support surveys conducted by Class Surveyors and Syahbandar/Port Authorities, particularly those related to the vessel's hull and structural works.
  • Inspect and verify the completion and quality of docking works documented in the Satisfaction Note and Docking Report issued by the shipyard.
  • Prepare the Docking Evaluation Report and Preventive Action Plan and submit them to the vessel's Ship Manager upon completion of the docking period.
  • Prepare the Docking Cost Summary and support the negotiation of docking costs with the shipyard in coordination with the vessel's Ship Manager.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all activities and matters related to the docking process and submit the required reports to the vessel's Ship Manager upon completion of each docking project.
  • Ensure that all docking activities are carried out in accordance with approved requirements, schedules, and budgets, while minimizing time and cost deviations.
  • Work closely with the Superintendent to ensure that onboard work is properly managed, coordinated, and completed during both docking periods and vessel operations.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance assessments for team members in accordance with established HR procedures to ensure high levels of performance and competency.
  • Continuously evaluate work processes, 5R (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS/K3) practices to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of departmental operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree from Naval Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the same role.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Willing to be placed at Surabaya.
