About the Opportunity

Join RACV as our HSW Business Partner – Systems & Assurance, where you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) management system is practical, contemporary, compliant, embedded across the organisation and keeps our team members healthy, safe and thriving.

Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing and with 2 direct reports to support your function, this role partners closely with leaders and stakeholders across the group to continuously improve and simplify how health, safety and wellbeing is realised across RACV. In addition, the role is responsible for implementation of enterprise-wide continuous improvement projects, driving strong safety governance, delivering our assurance program and maintaining our self-insurance licence.

  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve RACV’s HSW management system
  • Ensure compliance with relevant OHS WHS legislation, standards and codes of practice
  • Lead our HSW Assurance Program and manage external audits to maintain ISO45001 accreditation and achieve self‑insurance requirements
  • Identify, investigate and resolve non‑compliances, ensuring corrective actions and learnings are embedded
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to uplift safety capability and outcomes
  • Ensure effective HSW training and communication is delivered across the organisation
  • Support HSW projects, site engagement and the annual HSW Strategic Plan

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Minimum Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health and Safety
  • 5+ years’ experience in OHS, with demonstrated experience managing safety systems
  • A passion for leader-lead, person-centred, practical and outcome oriented safety management approaches
  • Project and/or change management experience to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of OHS / WHS legislation, regulations, Australian Standards and codes of practice
  • Auditing experience (accreditation preferred) with a firm but fair approach
  • Highly effective stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Ability to navigate and interpret data and systems to provide analytical performance measurement and support data-driven decision making
  • Experience working in a self-insured environment, and knowledge of ISO 450001 is highly desirable
  • Experience working with Insurance, Healthcare, Hospitality or Retail organisation is highly desirable
  • An inclusive, authentic and consultative approach to leading and working within a team
