THE ROLE:

This site-based 8 days on 6 days off role is an entry-level pathway into our HSQE team, suited to someone with hands-on operational experience who is ready to formalise and grow a career in Health, Safety, Quality and Environment.

As HSQE Coordinator, you will work under the guidance of our HSQE Specialist and HSQE personnel, providing hands-on coordination and support across day-to-day HSQE activities. While building your foundational technical competence through structured development, mentoring and formal study (including your Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety), you will assist with compliance activities, reporting, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives, and liaise closely with operational leaders and the Injury Management team.

Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination and delivery of HSQE inductions and training sessions under supervision.
  • Assist with employee, contractor and visitor onboarding from an HSQE perspective, including documentation checks and system entries.
  • Support the scheduling, tracking and maintenance of HSQE training records, licences and competency matrices.
  • Attend and contribute to toolbox talks, pre-starts and HSQE meetings.
  • Assist in communicating HSQE alerts, learnings and key messages to the workforce.
  • Participate in risk assessments, inspections and hazard identification activities, including food safety hazards, under guidance.
  • Assist with incident, hazard and non-conformance reporting, investigations and corrective action close-out under supervision.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills and response planning.
  • Contribute to HSQE, quality and food safety campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for someone with a proactive, reliable and safety-focused mindset who is genuinely motivated to build a long-term career in HSQE, and who is willing to learn, accept feedback and develop professionally.

Essential:

  • Year 12 completion (minimum).
  • Working toward completion of Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (mandatory).
  • Current Australian driver's licence.
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience in an operational or site-based role.
  • Completion of some operational HSQE tasks (e.g. inspections, reporting, toolbox talks, risk assessments).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competent computer literacy (MS Office, email, reporting systems).
  • Meet the requirements of a pre-employment medical.

Highly regarded:

  • Prior exposure to food safety guidance or HACCP principles.
  • Experience in hospitality, accommodation, catering, mining, resources or remote operations.
