Job Description

ACCOUNTABILITY

This position is responsible for coordinating Songjiang site-wide health, safety, environmental and security activities. The successful candidate will provide leadership, technical expertise, consultation and analysis toward the company-wide goal of eliminating accidents and injuries and providing a healthy and secure workplace. The individual will support site HSES Manager and work closely with the plant management team to ensure compliance with company policy and all laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collect and assess the applicable EHS laws and regulations and CORP HSES requirements to identify the gaps and work with related departments to fulfill the gaps through initiating projects, developing procedures and performing monitoring, etc.
  2. Maintain HSE management systems of ISO 14001, ISO45001, safety standardization, clean production etc. to fully comply with the system requirements including organizing internal audit and management review, supporting on the update and implementation of procedure/WIs and coordinating the external audits.
  3. Develop and maintain the critical safety and health programs implementation to achieve zero injury and foster the safety culture in site to support business continuity, e.g., cardinal rules, JSA, HIRA, etc.;
  1. Coordinate on the environmental programs and maintain the pollution discharge permit to ensure full compliance, e.g. chemical management, exhaust air treatment, wastewater treatment, soil pollution prevention, plan and arrange periodical environmental monitoring;
  2. Coordinate on the IH & OH programs to ensure full compliance, e.g. physical examination, site IH monitoring and reporting, PPE matrix, etc.
  3. Coordinate and maintain the special task training and certification program, develop and coordinate site HSE training plan and provide HSES training & consultation;
  4. Support on project related HSE report and permit: EIA and HIA, etc.;
  5. Collect and report HSE data and maintain government EHS system and reporting, e.g., Incident summary, environment and RC information, etc;
  6. Support on various activities in site to improve the safety awareness, such as routine Gemba walk, HSE skill training and safety committee meeting, etc.;
  7. Coordinate safety inspection and provide consultation on lab safety;
  8. Any other tasks assigned;

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

  • Education Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree or above. Major in chemical engineering, chemistry, safety or environment.
    • Be familiar with environmental programs, compliance is preferred, like, pollution discharge permit, exhaust air treatment, wastewater treatment, soil pollution prevention, etc.
  • Experiences Preferred:
  • At least 5 years of working experience in chemical production or HSES field.
  • Chemical or chemical industry background preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Good knowledge of EHS rules and regulations.
  • Good knowledge of hazard studies and risk analysis.
  • Experience in communication with local authorities, including local EPB, fire, Industrial hygiene and safety bureau.
  • Training/documentation skill.
  • Learning agility
  • Good communication skill and teamwork
  • Certified safety engineer preferred.
  • Fluent in Chinese both speaking and writing
  • Good oral English skill
