Join Wilhelmsen Ship Management (Norway) AS as our new HSEQ Superintendent - Environmental
Location: Lysaker, Norway | Type: Full-time, Hybrid
We are looking for an experienced HSEQ Superintendent – Environmental to join our growing cruise team at Wilhelmsen Ship Management.
This is an opportunity to work with one of the most advanced cruise fleets in the industry — supporting environmental compliance, driving continuous improvement, and working closely with both ship and shore teams to deliver high HSEQ standards.
About The Role:
As part of our HSEQ team, you will act as the environmental subject matter expert for your assigned vessels. You’ll work closely with crews, shore-based teams, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, improve performance, and support the ongoing development of our Safety Management System (SMS).
Your work will directly contribute to protecting people, vessels, and the environment — while ensuring our operations meet both current and future regulatory demands.
What you will be doing:
Provide expert guidance on environmental regulations and compliance across the fleet
Ensure vessels comply with flag state, regulatory, and company HSEQ requirements
Support and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS) to meet evolving standards
Monitor and follow up on: Fleet performance and environmental metrics, Lessons learned from incidents and undesired events, Shipboard management system reviews and improvements
Act as a key contact for environmental matters between ship, shore, and external stakeholders
Stay up to date on regulatory developments and industry best practices
What we are looking for:
Solid experience working with environmental regulations within shipping or cruise
Strong understanding of HSEQ frameworks and compliance requirements
Preferably seagoing experience as a Senior Officer (cruise or similar segment)
Ability to translate regulations into practical actions for vessel teams
Strong communication skills — able to engage both ship and shore stakeholders
Structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
Experience with documentation and reporting in a professional setting
Relevant HSEQ education is a plus, but not essential
Who you are:
You take ownership and enjoy improving systems, not just maintaining them
You’re proactive, analytical, and solutions-oriented
You build trust easily and work well across cultures and teams
You stay calm under pressure and focus on delivering results

Working in Wilhelmsen can offer a culture and work environment of strong leadership, career development, work-life balance and a job that is both challenging and stimulating. Beyond this, we have benefits that include, but are not limited to:
Flexible working arrangements
Generous pension plan with attractive employer contributions
Company cabins (Norway, Denmark, Spain & Sweden)
Modern office located in central Lysaker; a delicious healthy canteen lunch is served daily.
