We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Operations Manager to join our team based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.
This position is focused on the provision of advice and support to the Utilities and Transmission line business, with a focus on driving improvements in Health, Safety and Environmental performance by leveraging UGL’s HSEQ Strategy, HSEQ Management System, Assurance Program, and One HSE Culture Program.
This role is required to work with UGL’s Direct Workforce, JV’s, Alliance partners, and their contractors to influence positive HSE outcomes.
What will a day in this role look like:
·Lead and champion HSE, ESG and quality performance across Utilities and Transmission projects, ensuring alignment with UGL’s HSEQ Strategy, Management System and critical risk framework.
·Partner with project and operational leaders to build a strong safety culture, develop team capability, facilitate risk workshops, and drive continuous improvement through coaching and assurance activities.
·Provide expert HSE guidance throughout the project lifecycle, including tender submissions, business development opportunities, incident investigations, and compliance with legal and client requirements.
·Monitor, report and improve HSE performance outcomes, proactively identifying risks, addressing gaps, and supporting projects to achieve key safety, environmental and quality objectives.

What are we looking for you to bring to the team:
·Relevant qualifications in Work Health & Safety (minimum Diploma), Training & Assessment (Cert IV) and incident investigation (ICAM, TapRooT® or equivalent), with additional environmental or tertiary qualifications highly regarded.
·Extensive HSE leadership experience within high-risk industries, supported by strong knowledge of WHS legislation and a proven track record delivering HSE improvement initiatives and risk management outcomes.
·Demonstrated expertise in leading significant incident investigations, driving corrective actions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
·Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, manage competing priorities, and inspire a strong commitment to safety, people and environmental protection.
