
About the role
We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to provide visible leadership across NSW and the ACT and drive strong HSEQ performance across high-risk operational environments, including quarrying, concrete, transport and related operations.
This senior role is responsible for partnering with operational leaders to strengthen risk management, improve compliance, and embed practical HSEQ systems that support safe, compliant and high-performing operations.
As a member of the Eastern Region Leadership Team, you will be the key HSEQ leader for day-to-day matters across NSW/ACT, leading a small team of HSEQ Advisors and Specialists while working closely with site leaders, regional leadership and national stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Provide visible HSEQ leadership across regional operations
Lead implementation of the National HSEQ Strategy and regional improvement plans
Support the development, and the lead the local implementation of, the National Critical Risk Management program
Interpret and advise on HSEQ legislation and compliance obligations, including the WHS Act and Regulations, the Mines and Petroleum Sites Act and Regulation, workers compensation requirements, and all other applicable legislation in NSW and the ACT
Support operational leaders with regulator interactions, compliance improvement and practical HSEQ guidance
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
Partner with Operations and HR on injury management, return to work and practical risk-based support
Lead regional HSEQ reporting, audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Manage and develop a small team of HSEQ Advisors and Specialists
About you
You are a credible and practical HSEQ leader who can influence at all levels of the business. You bring strong legislative knowledge, operational credibility and a hands-on approach to supporting leaders in high-risk environments.
You will bring:
Experience in a senior HSEQ or operational leadership role within mining, quarrying, transport, manufacturing or heavy industry
Strong knowledge of HSEQ legislation and risk management frameworks in NSW/ACT
Experience supporting workers compensation, injury management and return to work processes
Proven ability to lead teams and influence operational leaders
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in WHS, Environment, Engineering, Operations or a related discipline
