Context & Environment

ProxiFuel is a national distribution network for heating oil and pellets in Belgium and a subsidiary of TotalEnergies Marketing Belgium. With regional operations across the country, the business serves both private customers and companies, offering a dynamic environment where operational excellence, safety and service quality are essential.

The General Trade division is responsible for managing sales operations for key products—petrol, diesel, domestic heating oil and pellets—within its remit on the Belgian market, serving private customers and industrial clients either directly or through its direct sales subsidiary, ProxiFuel, and independent distributors.

You will work in close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders such as contractors, transport partners, auditors and prevention experts. The position offers a broad transversal view of operations, real autonomy, and the opportunity to influence practices over the long term.

This is an impactful role for someone who wants to combine field presence, strategic thinking and collaboration. You will directly contribute to the protection of people, assets and operations while helping raise HSEQ standards across the business.

Activities

In this role, you will lead and coordinate HSEQ activities for the Commercial Sales environment and its affiliates, with a strong focus on prevention, compliance, continuous improvement and operational support.

• Act as the HSEQ reference point for Commercial Sales and affiliated activities, ensuring that procedures are applied effectively in day-to-day operations.
• Take on the responsibilities of Prevention Advisor in line with Belgian well-being at work regulations.
• Analyse incidents and near misses, monitor corrective action plans, and contribute to preventive initiatives that reduce risks and improve safety performance.
• Support transport safety through reporting, action follow-up, driver exchanges and participation in internal and legal audits.
• Coordinate quality-related activities, including document control, customer complaint follow-up, management reporting and audit preparation.
• Contribute as an internal auditor for standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ENPlus, DINplus and PEFC.
• Lead sustainability actions and help strengthen a responsible and forward-looking HSEQ culture.
• Ensure the application of security rules and maintain the Business Continuity Plan, including annual testing.

Candidate Profile

• You hold a Master’s degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience.
• You have solid field experience in HSEQ, ideally in transport, industry or the energy sector.
• You hold the Prevention Advisor Level 3 certification.
• You are familiar with the Belgian Code of Well-being at Work and with quality and environmental standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ENPlus, DINplus and PEFC.
• You are structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented, with strong communication and influencing skills.
• You are comfortable working with a wide variety of stakeholders and know how to combine rigor with diplomacy.
• You hold a Category B driving licence
• You are fluent in Dutch and French; English is an asset.
