Our Opportunity

We have an great opportunity for a HSEQ Coordinator to join our team, working closely with Operations to ensure our employees are site ready to continue to provide excellent service to our customers. This position will primarily work across our Sunshine Coast sites, with some travel to
project sites in the region as required.

You will be passionate about all things Health & Safety and have the ability to communicate to stakeholders. This role is supported by a National HSEQ Manager. You will also be accountable for:

  • Providing advice and direction on leading the HSEQ culture to ensure the operations management teams are committed to compliance with relevant Health, Safety and Environment legislation and internal system requirements.
  • Utilise HSEQ systems (e.g. Kynection or similar) to manage incidents, audits, inspections, and compliance records.
  • Ensuring HSEQ on-site reviews, depot inspections, and field-based compliance checks are carried in line with the required timeline and schedule.
  • Verify implementation of onsite risk controls including SWMS, JSAs, permits, and PPE requirements.
  • Compilation of project HSEQ reports ensuring they are compiled and are available to internal and external to stakeholders as required.
  • Oversee any Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions processes, resulting from Audit findings.
  • Support the Return to Work process for injured workers, through effective Case Management and liaison with Workcover QLD.
  • Implementing HSEQ programs, policies, procedures and processes.
  • Ensuring processes needed for the PMA HSEQ management system are implemented and maintained including updates to HSEQ registers including, training matrix, electrical test and tag, gas monitoring, fire equipment, and confined space / working at heights equipment.
  • Assisting in various activities, including but not limited to risk identification, incident reporting and investigation, waste minimization, pollution prevention and control of various compliance activities in all areas of HSEQ.
  • Participate in Toolbox Talks, safety engagements, and operator training sessions for the effective promotion of awareness of HSE requirements throughout the organisation.

You will ideally possess the following key skills and experience:

  • 2-3 years' work experience in Work Health and Safety in an industrial or blue-collar environment.
  • Certificate IV - Workplace Health and Safety (BSB41419 - Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety) or higher qualification.
  • Drug and Alcohol testing certificate (HLPTAT005 – Collect specimens for drug of abuse testing).
  • Experience in the use of HSEQ document management systems (e.g. Kynection, SharePoint
    or similar).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Proven experience writing SWMS in a variety of work environments.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of Return to Work Plans and collaboration with Operations to ensure they are appropriately actioned to achieve required outcomes.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to meet the requirements of our teams.
  • Incident Management experience (ICAM/taproot certification and/or experience desirable).
  • Good computer and MS Office experience.
  • Sound negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflict and manage complex situations.
  • Able to prioritise tasks and allocate time to support onsite HSEQ functions across both Maroochydore and Caboolture Depots.
  • Ability to think innovatively, identify improvements and assist with changing/updating existing business processes and systems.
  • Familiarity and ability to apply relevant HSE Acts, Regulations, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.
