About the Opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Health, Safety, Environment & Training professional to complement our dynamic team within our Toowoomba, QLD based office. Reporting to the HSEQ&T Manager you will provide professional and timely support services to the Queensland Division in the area of Health, Safety and Environment expertise.

This successful candidate will be a hands-on Leader with a proven track record working as a senior in Health Safety and Environment, previous experience managing employee performance and providing quality investigation outcomes and reporting.
This role will be suited to someone who thrives in fast moving and ever change environments with competing deadlines and enjoys the adrenaline rush that goes with this industry. Excellent communication, time management and prioritizing skills are a must, together with a team player attitude as well as the ability to work autonomously.
The Position
• Providing close support and guidance to the Drilling Superintendent QLD & the Queensland Operations in all aspects of operational, legislative, regulatory Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Provide support, advise, coach and mentor the field HSE Advisors ensuring adequate coverage is provided to maintain a safe work environment for all operational areas
• Manage HSE&T Management System documents in accordance with Ensign Australia’s HSE requirements;
• Prepare HSE related presentations for Internal purposes and also for Client requirements when required ;
• Contribute to the overall improvements in regards to the Ensign HSE Management System including departmental and site HSE procedures, forms, registers and checklists;
• Recommending risk control strategies, manage the implementation, reviews and compliance of risk registers;
• Assist with conducting annual reviews of all safety management and environmental plans, update plans as required for all Rigs and other related Queensland Operations;
• Developing and coordinating preventive strategies, systems and programs, such as safe work practices, specific hazard control programs, safety management plans health promotion etc;
• Identifying the HSE training needs for the Queensland Operations and Business Unit;

About You
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar WHS Leadership role;
• Tertiary qualification(s) in WHS and hold Certificate IV in TAE
• iCAM Investigation Certificate
• Previous Drilling, Energy or Resources industry experience, or similar.
• Demonstrate strong relationship building at all levels within the business
• High level of written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Highly organised with the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a high-pressure environment
• Passionate about team-work and collaboration
• Able to work autonomously and manage own workload
• Possess a positive and solution focused attitude
• Have a continuous improvement mindset
• Proficiency in MS Office suite of products
• IVMS Knowledge (Preferred)

Due to the nature of our 24/7 Operations, there are some requirements for out of hours work to support the team. However, we fully believe in work life balance and have systems in place to manage this.
