EHS teams are comprised of three distinct disciplines that support our EHS Management System and processes at project sites and offices. These teams include environmental scientists, safety specialists, and industrial hygiene scientists. Collectively, they provide technical guidance and perform planning, risk assessment, inspections and monitoring, training, and data management.

Job Summary:

Will support the implementation of project ESH programs by performing both administrative and field tasks in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, under the direction of senior ESH personnel. This is a developmental role that applies occupational safety practices to the safety and health aspects of projects or facilities, with a primary focus on fieldwork. The position reports to an Area ESH Lead and/or Deputy EHS Manager.

Work requires physical ability for field inspections, including walking on construction sites in extreme heat or humidity, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working at heights or on uneven surfaces, and entering confined spaces. Must be able to wear assigned PPE (e.g., harness, life vest, gloves, etc.)

Major Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with craft professionals, field supervisors, and subcontractor representatives.
• Assist in integrating safety and health requirements into project work activities during construction, commissioning, and start-up.
• Support risk assessments, task hazard analyses, and pre-task planning reviews under the guidance of senior ESH personnel.
• Research and apply organizational and regulatory requirements with guidance; prepare accurate inspection records, documentation, and reports.
• Participate in work planning and conduct safety observations and reviews to verify compliance and best practices.
• Assist with the administration of safety permits and the delivery of safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training.
• Participate in emergency response activities and support incident investigations, including information gathering, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
• Communicate safety requirements clearly to crews and supervision and support their integration into daily operations.
• Conduct routine field inspections, monitor ESH performance, and verify adherence to applicable standards, escalating issues to the Area ESH Lead as needed.
• Enter and maintain ESH observations, inspection findings, and corrective actions in digital safety management systems to support trend analysis.
• Assist in developing and distributing safety communications using various media (e.g., presentations, bulletins, digital platforms).
• Collaborate with and support other ESH team members across all ESH disciplines as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

A Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in occupational safety, health, or a science-related discipline from an accredited university or college with 1 or more years of experience related to safety or occupational health; or an Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in one of the same disciplines with 3 or more years of relevant experience; or 5 or more years of relevant safety or health experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Working knowledge of regulatory and organizational requirements (e.g., OSHA 29 CFR 1926, ISO 45001), with the ability to research, interpret, and apply them with guidance.
• Good oral and written communication skills, including clear documentation and report preparation.
• Basic analytical skills related to inspections, monitoring, and recordkeeping.
• Ability to conduct field inspections and track corrective actions through completion.
• Proficiency with computers (e.g., Microsoft Office) to prepare reports and presentations and manage data.
• Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, digital safety management software used to manage ESH processes.
• Adaptable and able to work outdoors in a field environment under various weather conditions.
• Ability to support multiple work shifts, as needed, and a wide range of field related tasks.
• Valid driver’s license
