About the Role

We are looking for an experienced HSE Specialist to independently manage, develop, and continuously improve HSE activities at site level in Stavanger.

This is a highly autonomous role with full ownership of the local HSE management system, ensuring compliance with Norwegian regulations, NOV global standards, and ISO 45001 / 14001. The position plays a key role in supporting safe, efficient, and sustainable operations across both on-site and offshore-related activities.

You will act as the primary HSE point of contact locally, working closely with management, employees, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop, and continuously improve the local HSE management system
  • Ensure compliance with Norwegian legislation, NOV standards, and ISO 45001 / 14001
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions
  • Coordinate and implement NOV EPS HSE programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct HSE audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Support emergency response planning and drills
  • Deliver HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks
  • Monitor and report HSE performance metrics and KPIs
  • Support environmental initiatives, including waste management and ESG reporting
  • Act as the main contact for HSE matters with management, regulators, contractors, and clients

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support tender and contract HSE documentation
  • Maintain HSE documentation and compliance registers
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across the organization

Qualifications & Skills

Essential Qualifications:

  • Approximately 5 years of experience in HSE
  • Experience in HSE within manufacturing and/or oil & gas environments
  • Ability to work independently without day-to-day supervision
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of Norwegian regulations and fluency in Norwegian
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of HSE systems and management systems
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance and HSE best practices

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in the energy sector / oil & gas
  • Experience in manufacturing environments
  • Experience with ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001
  • Internal Auditor certification (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Experience in Industrial Protection (Industrivern)
  • Knowledge of HSE systems audited locally and globally
