Activities
To support the implementation, monitoring and verification of Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability (HSES) management across the SPV portfolio, ensuring compliance with legal, shareholder, lender and company requirements while supporting safe and sustainable operations.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day implementation of HSE and Environmental & Sustainability requirements across SPV operational assets.
- Act as the HSE site focal point with stakeholders (internal, contractor).
- Review, draft, and ensure the implementation of the Contractors and the Project Company HSE plans in compliance with the Company Rules, the local legislation, and International Standards.
- Ensure other comprehensive sub documents are drafted and implemented as per the Company Rules such as Method Statement with Risk Analysis, Emergency Response Plan, Traffic Plan, PTW, Matrix of Qualifications etc…
- Ensure the HSE and E&S compliance of equipment such as PPE, electrical tools, fire extinguisher, vehicles, scaffoldings, spill kits etc…
- Promote a proactive and positive HSE environment at site through training, site audits, workshops, and communication.
- Challenge the root cause analysis on technical failures.
- Issue the reporting on HSE Site maters.
- Conduct site inspections, operational verification and compliance monitoring activities.
- Monitor contractor compliance and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support incident investigations, evidence gathering and action tracking.
- Maintain HSES records, registers, reports and management system documentation.
- Verify implementation of environmental controls, permit requirements and sustainability commitments.
- Support audits, inspections and assurance activities.
- Update One Maestro actions, evidence and supporting documentation.
- Compile HSES statistics, inspection reports and performance information.
- Escalate non-conformances, risks and compliance concerns.
Candidate Profile
- Preferably National Diploma in Safety Management, Environmental or equivalent qualification; SACPCMP would be advantageous
- 4+ years combined HSE experience, preferably in the renewable energy environment or in industrial operations HSE Management Systems
- Working understanding of the relevant regulations and standards relating to HSE in the development of renewable energy projects and operational sites
- Take ownership of meeting deadlines and drive tasks to completion
- Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify required tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Understanding of MS Project
- Proficiency in English and Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel and spend time on site
- A valid Driver’s license
