Position: HSE Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Officer to join our team. The HSE Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards at our company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HSE management and a thorough understanding of industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in line with local laws and regulations, as well as industry standards
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and develop corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Provide HSE training and education to employees, contractors, and visitors
- Maintain and update HSE records and reports, and present findings to management
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans
- Liaise with government agencies and third-party organizations to ensure compliance and obtain necessary permits and certifications
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and changes in regulations, and make recommendations for improvements to HSE policies and procedures
- Lead emergency response planning and drills, and provide support during emergencies
- Participate in HSE meetings and committees, and provide guidance and support to other departments and teams
- Promote a positive safety culture and raise awareness of HSE issues among employees
- Conduct regular safety audits of equipment and facilities, and ensure proper maintenance and repair procedures are followed
- Monitor and report on HSE performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Knowledge of local HSE regulations and standards
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and management principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Certified in HSE training programs, such as NEBOSH or OSHA, is preferred.
