Accountability

• To manage the safety personnel and develop a proactive safety management system
• To review and update the HSE plan, Risk register and communicate changes
• To report the HSE performance to Senior HSE Engineer
• To report near misses, investigate accidents and review NCR for corrective action
• To train the new employees and visitors on HSE precautions'.
• To authorize permit to work and supervise the work against applicable requirements
• Update the documentation requirements to comply with ISO 45001:2018 requirements
• Rewarding and recognizing best safety practices
• To update legal register as per the legislative changes

Responsibilities

• Preparing the risk assessments and identifying safe systems of work to be recorded in safe work method statements.
• Assist safety assistants in delivering toolbox talks to the workers on the control measures identified in risk assessments and the safe system of work to be adhered to.
• In coordination with the HSE assistants, ensure periodic inspections of Tools and tackles, housekeeping, scaffolds, ladders, other power tools and personal protective equipment etc.
• In coordination with the HSE assistants, ensure plant safety inspections in order to observe the physical conditions of work practices and procedures followed by workers and advise employees on measures to be adopted
• Provide advice to the HSE Manager on health, safety and environmental concerns
• Ensuring that HSE plan shall be followed by all the employees at site.
• Monitor statutory compliance by carrying out regular inspections and auditing the sites
• Monitor daily and weekly inspections and prepare a quantitative report for submittal to develop safety culture.
• Report immediately to the line/senior management any serious safety breaches that place workers in life threatening situations.
• Ensuring environmental concern norms are followed by all employees at the site
• Develop procedures for high-risk activities and brief management on their responsibilities under these procedures. Audit these procedures regularly and report any non-compliance to the Project Manager.
• Ensure that an accident investigation reporting procedure to the senior management in line with related requirements.
• Ensure the safety inductions for newcomers, TBT and periodical drills are happening at the sites
• Deeply involve and advise management about workers’ consultation and participation outcomes
