In this full time permanent position, the first project you’ll join is the Narrogin Wind Farm, located approximately 160km south‑east of Perth. The Narrogin Wind Farm is a major renewable energy development in Western Australia, delivering approximately 200 MW of capacityand will play a key role in WA’s energy transition.

About the role
The HSE Manager will provide leadership, guidance and strategic direction across all health, safety, environment and quality activities. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be a trusted advisor and key member of the project leadership team, responsible for driving a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with UGL’s HSE Management System, legislative requirements and client expectations.
The role is hands on and site based, combining field presence with governance, coaching and stakeholder engagement
Key responsibilities
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of UGL’s HSE management systems.
Drive a strong safety culture across project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.
Provide expert guidance on legislation, standards, risk management and compliance.
Oversee incident reporting, investigations, audits, HSSE documentation and reporting.
Lead and deliver HSSE improvement initiatives, KPIs and mentor site‑based HSE teams.

About you
Similar experience as an HSE Manager within renewable construction projects (solar, BESS or wind).
Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or similar.
Sound knowledge of WHS, environmental and workers compensation legislation, and its application on construction sites.
Demonstrated experience embedding and maintaining HSE management systems.
Proven ability to lead investigations, audits and build strong relationships, influencing outcomes and leading by example on site.
