Job Title: HSE Manager - Submarines

Working location: Raynesway, Derby

Grade: Level C

As the HSE Manager you will be reporting to the Head of HS&E and be a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager for Rolls-Royce Submarines.

Accountable to the Head of HSE and Director Site and Licensee Authority for the Health, Safety and Environment Management of operations. To lead, co-ordinate and represent Rolls-Royce Submarines in health, safety and environment issues/initiatives.

What you will be doing:

You will be the HSE specialist for Rolls-Royce Submarines -accountable for the performance and results of HSE.

  • Maintain knowledge of best practice HSE legislation and that of key stakeholders, and use them to drive strategy, processes and performance.
  • Provide technical HSE direction to operation, maintenance and design teams within.
  • Develop policies and strategies for continuous improvement and development of the HSE culture, encouraging, motivating and recognising good behaviour at all levels.
  • Establish, maintain and lead all significant accident and incident investigations, record systems, reports and accident trend analysis.
  • Represent the business on HSE matters with Regulators, Customers, Suppliers and other stakeholders.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional HSE qualifications.
  • Chartered or working towards chartered membership of IOSH.
  • Experienced in providing high level advice and risk based solutions in a diverse range of disciplines.
  • Have a proven track record in HSE management.
  • Experienced in HSE in Design and Construction.
  • The ability to influence and facilitate ownership and commitment by management and active participation.
  • Knowledge of the business area, specific risks and industry approaches would be advantageous.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
