Responsibilities
-Development of Health and Safety and Environmental plans and procedures in accordance with contract requirements as well as the local laws and regulations;
- Review of Health and Safety and Environmental plans, procedures, and other relevant documents when applicable.
- Consult with the Client and the Sub-Contractors on all HSSE matters.
- Conduct inspections, audits and reviews of the Sub-Contractor’s activities and project-related documentation.
- Development and monitoring of Health and Safety Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Identification of all significant hazards while ensuring adequate control thereof.
- Development of Project specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments for the Health, Safety and Environmental aspects of the works.
- Development, implementation, integration, and successful certification of the Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Management System in accordance with the ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Environmental and OHS Management Systems Standard.
- Management and coordination of all aspects of the integrated Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
- Leading the implementation of Health and Safety and Environmental management policies and practices.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Auditing, analysing and reporting Health and Safety and Environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
- Identification of the training required in respect of Health and Safety and Environmental issues for personnel in accordance with the local Laws and Regulations.
- Development and provision of internal training to personnel at all levels in Health and Safety and Environmental issues and their respective responsibilities.
- Planning and arrangement of 3rd party training programs for staff and sub-contractors.
- Participation in Health and Safety and Environmental meetings both internal and external, as required.
- Drafting Health and Safety and Environmental reports, assuming the lead responsibility with the Company.
- Investigation of near misses/ dangerous occurrences and accidents. Provide corrective and preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of recurrence. Monitor and assess corrective and preventative measures accordingly.
- Monitor and supervise security staff on site, and liaise with Site Security on all issues pertaining to site office security.
- Develop and implement strategies to prevent loss, theft and damage to company and client assets.
- Develop, implement and maintain systems for fire prevention and protection.
- Manage, provide guidance, and monitor general fire, health, and safety aspects.
- Develop and deliver internal EHS training programs and arrange third-party EHS training for personnel.
