Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HSE Lead Engineer to join our team in Alexandria, Egypt. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment programs across our organization. You will lead HSE initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance with Egyptian labor laws and international standards, and foster a strong safety culture throughout the workplace. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, decisive leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement in all HSE matters.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs aligned with Egyptian regulations and international standards (ISO 45001, OHSAS)
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential workplace dangers and recommend appropriate control measures
  • Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence
  • Perform regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with established HSE standards and regulatory requirements
  • Provide HSE training and awareness programs to all employees, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Manage HSE documentation, records, and reporting systems to maintain accurate and organized compliance files
  • Collaborate with department heads and operational teams to integrate HSE requirements into daily work activities
  • Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics, prepare reports, and present findings to senior management
  • Stay current with changes in Egyptian labor laws and international HSE regulations to ensure organizational compliance
  • Investigate near-misses and accidents, document findings, and communicate lessons learned across the organization
  • Develop and manage HSE budgets and resource allocation for safety initiatives and programs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external HSE auditors

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in HSE management or a related field
  • Proven leadership experience managing HSE teams or programs within a corporate environment
  • Strong knowledge of Egyptian labor laws and international HSE standards (ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001)
  • Expertise in risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident investigation methodologies
  • Proficiency with HSE management systems, incident reporting software, and audit tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex safety data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver HSE training programs
  • Experience with safety auditing and compliance documentation
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple HSE initiatives simultaneously
  • Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent recognized qualification
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence organizational culture
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools
