Job Description

Acuren is seeking a professional, energetic and forward-thinking Heath and Safety Coordinator to support our team in Fort McMurray! Are you passionate about safety? Do you have extensive experience working in the safety field and are interested in taking on a new role? If so, apply today!

Project Details:

  • Start Date: March 2, 2026
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 10-hour shifts
  • Flights provided from Alberta Hubs

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer all site-level safety and quality activities

  • Support implementation of safety and quality control measures across projects

  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, field audits, and compliance reviews

  • Lead and document incident investigations, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented

  • Develop and support programs to address safety or quality performance gaps

  • Provide on-site safety and quality oversight during shutdowns and other site-based work

  • Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, regional training, and targeted risk awareness initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and provincial regulations, standards, and company policies

  • Maintain accurate reporting, training records, and near-miss documentation

  • Provide reliable data to support monthly safety and quality metrics

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the Safety and/or Quality Management System

Requirements

  • NCSO or CRST professional designation (required)

  • OHS certification considered an asset

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a field-based safety role

  • Heavy industrial operations experience considered an asset

  • Demonstrated involvement in safety management processes, including safety committees, audits, and inspections

Core Competencies

  • Strong planning and organizational skills

  • Effective interpersonal and communication abilities

  • Proven experience conducting audits and inspections in industrial environments

  • Solid computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to actively contribute to and support structured safety management systems
